Lost pets that are picked up by animal control and wearing a rabies tag or some kind of identification tag get preferred care, medical treatment if necessary, extended time and usually
get home. Most lost pets picked up without a tag are generally euthanized.
The primary identification for dogs and cats is their TAG worn on their collar. All other I.D. is considered secondary.

It is a City Ordinance that all dogs & cats be licensed and either kept on your property or on a leash. You can purchase a dog license at City Hall in the Clerk's office with proof
of current rabies shot. The City Clerk is available from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
