The protection of both human and ecosystem health in the Northwest Arkansas region is vitally important. We strive to maintain our great quality of life by providing wastewater treatment services, which involves the removal of contaminants from industrial wastewater and residential sewage, for the citizens of Harrison and surrounding communities.

Our staff works hard to eliminate overflows and preventable odors at each plant and all lift stations. We would appreciate any resident who has concerns to please call 870-741-5527.

INTERESTING FACTS
  • The City of Harrisons Waste Water Plant is located in a remote area outside the main population on Silver Valley Road.
  • Employees at the facilities must attend classes and pass a test by the state of Arkansas in order to have the requred wastewater license to work.
  • Over 3,000 manholes and 170 miles of sewer lines.
  • More than 1.9  million gallons of wastewater is processed each day.
  • Almost 100 grease traps from restaurants and car washes  are closely monitored ande inspected.
  • Various area sites, industries, and wastewater plant have required samples taken for testing by ADEQ and EPA.
  • The treated water is recycled back into Crooked Creek.
  • Prescription drugs are not to be poured down drains or flushed down toilets.  Contact your pharmacies, where they may have a program to return them to a drug company for proper disposal.
  • Do not pour grease (hot or cold) down the drain.  It could cause your sewer to back up into your house.
  • Have a backflow preventer installed in your line to prevent the sewer from backing up into your home or business.  All new construction is required to have this device installed when constructed.
