John Neal has been with the Harrison Fire Department for 19 years and is dedicated to his job as Fire Chief and to the citizens of Harrison.  John has been married to Mary Lu for 30 years and has five children.  John's hobbies include sports, travel and meeting new people.
 
The Harrison Fire Department has a class 3 insurance rating and is composed of 30 full time firefighters and 5 part paid firefighters.  The firefighters work 24 hour shifts, on 24/off 48, with the exception for the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, and Fire Marshal.  The stations are manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

The Fire Prevention Division is headed by Fire Marshal Marc Lowery, whose office is located in Fire Station #1, and can be reached at 870-741-2988.  The Department has a very active Fire Prevention Program that is directred by Lieutenant Clint Nichols.

There are two fire stations in Harrison:  Station #1 is located at City Hall, and Station #2 is located on Industrial Park Road, behind the Mall.  Plans to build Station #3 on the north side of town are in the works.  Business  hours (at Fire Station #1 only) are from 8:00 a.m. thru 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday.  Our business phone number is 741-6384.

You can obtain a burning permit by calling 741-6384 during business hours.  The weather conditions dictate whether or not we are issuing burning permits.  The only thing that you can burn inside the city is yard waste, limbs, leaves and grass clippings.
