The Harrison Fire Department sponsors a Flue Brush Program. Anyone who needs to clean out their chimney, the Harrison Fire Department has flue brushes in several sizes and rods available at no cost, to be checked out. Simply measure the size opening of your flue at the roof top and the approximate footage of rod needed, then come to the Fire Station located at 120 S. Spring.
This program originally started in the 70's with a grant from North Arkansas College. We were having several flue fires per week during the winter. Now we have just a few flue fires per year because of this fire prevention program.
