The First Heart of the Ozarks Corvette Show resulted in a Corvette invasion in the historic Boone County Courthouse Square. The Heart of Oklahoma Corvette Club hosted the eye-popping event in conjunction with the Explore Harrison Convention and Visitors Bureau on September 20-21. The awards ceremony was held at the Historic Lyric Theater, providing visitors a step back in time and a cool place to rest ahead of the awards.
Corvette enthusiasts from five different states (totaling over 120 Corvettes) began arriving in Harrison on Thursday, Sept. 19, and were immediately greeted with a warm welcome from the citizens of Harrison.
Kyle Strain, Sales Director, Explore Harrison Convention and Visitors Bureau, commented that the show was an outstanding success. “The Corvettes on the Square, the Farmers Market, and participating merchants coming together helped make this a weekend not to be forgotten.”
For the show, the Heart of Oklahoma Corvette Club proudly hosted a full range of Corvette generations from C1 through C8 Corvettes. Harrison’s very own Clint Broome entered three generations of Corvettes, a C3, C7, and C8 in the show. Broome was also a contributing sponsor for two show classes. Broome said, “he did not care if he won or lost, but he wanted Strand Composites to have a part in the show.” Broome also stated, “I thought it was a great turnout for an event of this kind in Harrison. I was very excited about the show, and I hope they return next year.”
Wood Motor Company, Phillip Wood, was the primary executive sponsor for the Heart of Oklahoma Corvette Club and hosted the meet, greet, and eat event on Friday before the show with 71 Corvettes in the parking lot.
The Heart of the Ozarks Corvette Show was sponsored by businesses from both Harrison and Oklahoma, coming together to help those in need and less fortunate in both states. Show proceeds went to three deserving charities. These charities were The Tyler Buck Strong Foundation, Benton, benefitting families whose children are dealing with childhood cancer, the Central Oklahoma Food Bank for Pets, supporting Veterans, Senior Citizens, Spousal Abuse Victims, and the Homeless, and Autism Oklahoma, serving those families whose loved ones are living with Autism.
A representative said, “Planning for the 2025 Heart of the Ozarks Corvette Show will begin soon. The Heart of Oklahoma Corvette Club would like to thank the City of Harrison and the businesses who graciously supported this event.”
