Tammy Snyder is newest volunteer

Tammy Snyder is the newest volunteer at City Hall.

“I’ve volunteered all my life,” she said. “I came in one day to pay my water bill and noticed the lights were off in the main information area. So, I inquired about it, interviewed, and was asked to join the team.”

Synder’s first Arkansas home was in Marble Falls. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and moved to the area as a 19-year-old with her mom and chose to stay.

Tammy married Tim Snyder. They have three grown sons who have given them four grandbabies.

She has authored a novel that can be purchased on Amazon entitled “The Chimney that Still Stands.” The historical fiction deals with the time period when the Buffalo River became a national river.

“It took me 10 years to write it while raising our family. But I kept coming back to it. I’m very glad it is finished. I enjoyed working on it when I could, but being a writer is a lonely job. I don’t like just staring at walls by myself. So, being a volunteer for City Hall and meeting the public is a lot of fun, and I really enjoy it.”

The Synder family attends Capps Road Church of Christ, and Tammy has loved being married and a part of this community for more than 30 years.
