Police Officers
The City of Harrison is now accepting applications for the following position: Full-Time Police Officers. Annual salary starting at $35,872 (negotiable based on experience), with benefit package including insurance, retirement, holidays, vacation and sick leave.
Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen; be at least 21 years of age or older; possess a valid Arkansas Driver’s License; have no felony record/arrests; be able to pass a background investigation, a psychological examination and a physical examination, as well as a polygraph examination; ability to work rotational shifts; must be fingerprinted.

Firefighters
The City of Harrison is now accepting applications for the following position: Full-time Fire-fighters. Applicants will be required to pass an entrance exam and pass a physical fitness course. Applications can be picked up at the Harrison City Hall in the Mayor’s Office (Human Resources Director) at 114 South Spring Street, Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must have a valid Arkansas driver’s license with a clean driving record, and an Arkansas State Police background check. And drug testing will be required for employment. If hired for full-time position applicant will be required to spend nine weeks at the Arkansas Fire Academy in Camden, Arkansas. (This is a volunteer (paid per run) on-call program to assist the full-time staff of the Fire Dept)
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age;have graduated or have a high school equivalency certificate;complete and pass a Arkansas Police background check with no felonies and/or violent criminal history; complete and pass a drug screening; a US citizen; valid drivers license; good physical condition and pass a physicians physical; possess a valid Arkansas Class D Driver’s License; and live within 20 miles of the city limits. Applications will be accepted until further notice.
