The City of Harrison
is hiring for the followiing positions:

General Laborer-Sewer Dept (2)
Applicants must be able to do routine work and manual tasks, with the ability to do heavy
physical labor efficiently. Applicant must be able to obtain a Class 1 Municipal Water License
in the time allotted and the ability to obtain a CDL within sixty days. It is also very important
that applicants work well with others and can work under very unforgiving and harsh conditions
at times depending on weather conditions. Other job duties will be discussed during the
interview.

Equipment Operator I-Sewer Dept
Applicants must have knowledge of installing and replacing sewer pipe and fittings or have experience in utility construction.  Applicants must have the ability to obtain a Class 1 sewer license within a year, a class A or B CDL within sixty days of employment, and must be able to operate heavy equipment including Backhoe, Skid Steer, Bull dozer, Mini Excavator and other equipment as needed.  Applicants must be able to perform the tasks of a skilled laborer, as well as other departmental tasks as assigned, when not engaged as a driver. It is also very important that applicants work well with others and can work under very unforgiving and harsh conditions at times depending on weather conditions. Other job duties will be discussed during the interview.

Equipment Operator II-Water

Meter Reader
Applicants must be able to perform the tasks of a skilled laborer, as well as other departmental tasks as assigned, when not engaged as a reader. It is also very important that applicants work well with others and can work under very unforgiving and harsh conditions at times depending on weather conditions. During the interview, other job duties will be discussed. Reads meters in specified routes every month with laptop, recheck meters with high and low usages and no read, turn on and off meters per work orders and investigate service complaints, change out meters, and radios and cables attached to meters as needed, test meters and check meters for leaks, disconnect delinquent accounts then reconnect after payment, meet with property owners to help them locate meters, recheck and reread meters for customers with high bills. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner, able to walk for long periods and be able to bend and stoop, must have good vision (with or without glasses / contacts), able to work in adverse weather conditionsApplicants must be in possession of a Class I Water License issued by the State of Arkansas or ability to obtain license within a year and meet Arkansas Department of Health requirements; must be in possession of a valid Arkansas Driver’s license.
