Yard Waste Composting

The City of Harrison owns and operates a yard waste composting facitlity.  Yard waste received by the City is composted using a controlled aerobic decompostition to transform organic material into a biologically stable product that can be used as a soil amendment.  In addition to producing compost, the facility also produces wood chip mulch.

The facility is not open to the public; however, City of Harrison and Boone County residents may take yard waste, limbs, and brush to the Orion Waste Solutions Recycling Center located at 805 Cottonwood Road (M-F: 9AM to 6PM and Saturday: 9AM to Noon).  Compost and mulch is also available for pick up by Harrison and Boone County residents at the Recycling Center.
